Sandra Crawley (Chair)

Born in Westward Ho!, more than a few summers ago, work took me to Yorkshire where I was a Director of Private Clients arranging bespoke portfolios for everything from Country estates and classic cars to art & jewellery collections. After early retirement 6 years ago I made Great Torrington my home. I am a Trustee and chair at the Town & Community Hall, Chair of the Torrington & District Care Forum forum, member of the Torrington 100 Steering Group, a Commons Conservator and a volunteer for the Devon Air Ambulance. It’s such a joy to be able to give something back to this fantastic community

Nigel Lewis-Carpenter, Treasurer

I have lived in Torrington for many years and been a Trustee for over 5 years taking on the role of Vice chair in 2020. In March 2023, I took on the role of treasurer to the Trust. My areas of expertise are Buildings maintenance issues plus Health & Safety compliance. My experience in these areas comes from being employed in the Youth Services sector for 20 years and working as a Carpenter for 25 years.

Looking after our superb listed building is a constant challenge -but a very rewarding one – and applying my skills means we can do a lot of work “in house” which helps us to  contain costs.
